Former Dallas Mavericks Star Jason Terry Has Emerged As Assistant Coach Candidate At Arizona

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Dallas Mavericks star Jason Terry has emerged as a candidate for an assistant coach position with the University of Arizona, following his retirement from the league after the 2017-18 season.

Former Arizona star and NBA point guard Jason Terry has emerged as the leading candidate to join Sean Miller’s staff as an assistant, source told @Stadium.

An Arizona alum, Terry played four seasons for the Wildcats, where he was part of the 1996-97 National Championship team.

In his fourth and final season, Terry averaged 21.9 points and 5.5 assists per game and was named a consensus First Team All-American, First Team All Pac-10, and was awarded the Pac-10 Player of the Year award. 

Terry also played a crucial role in the Mavericks 2011 NBA Title run, averaging 17.5 points on 55.6-percent shooting, including 44-percent from beyond the arc. 

has had an interest in coaching since retiring from the league, and had most recently been coaching his daughters AAU basketball team.
