DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Rangers outfielder/designated hitter Hunter Pence has been ruled out of the All-Star game after aggravating his right groin injury during his rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco Monday night.

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts will replace Pence on the roster, who had been voted in by the fans as a starter.

According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Pence will still attend the All-Star festivities in Cleveland.

Texas placed Pence on the injured list with a right groin strain on June 17.
