Garrett started his coaching career in 2005 as the quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins under Nick Saban, but also has history as an elite offensive coordinator, manning the position for the Cowboys from 2007-2009.

After two highly successful seasons under Wade Phillips, Garrett was named as the interim head coach upon the firing of Phillips on November 8th of the 2010 seasons.

Garrett had success as the head coach, leaving the Cowboys as the second-winningest coach in franchise history with a 77-59 record in 136 regular-season games, a 2-3 postseason record, and three division titles, as well as one AP Coach of the Year Award in 2016.

In nine years as the head coach, however, Garrett won the three division titles and made the playoffs just three times, never making it past the divisional round.

Garrett will work under new Giants head coach, Joe Judge, who will be manning an NFL head coaching position for the first time in his career after eight seasons as an assistant with the New England Patriots.
