DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will donate a $1 million gift to the Dallas Independent School District, he and the team announced Saturday.

The announcement comes a week after multiple schools in the DISD system were damaged as a result of the Tornado that touched down in Dallas last week.

The donation was made specifically to Thomas Jefferson High School, who's school and athletic facilities were some of the most severely damaged during the storm.

Later Saturday afternoon, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban took to Twitter in praise of Jones' generosity and pledged to match the donation. Though as of yet it is not clear which school will receive the gift from Cuban, or if it will be given to the school district as a whole.

Cuban had announced earlier in the week that he would make a $100,000 donation to the Dallas Education foundation earlier in the week, adding even more to the relief efforts.

As for Jones, his list of donations after tragic events in the state of Texas is lengthy, to say the least, with the most recent coming in the form of a $50,000 donation to the El Paso Victim's Fund, following the mass shooting earlier this year.
