Josh Hamilton: I Was Born To Play For The Texas Rangers

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Texas Ranger Josh Hamilton wrote a letter thanking fans ahead of his induction into the club's Hall of Fame this weekend.

Hamilton's emotional letter titled 'Beyond Grateful' appears in the Players Tribune. In the letter, Hamilton discussed how he became a Ranger and how fortunate he was to become one.

"I was meant to be in Texas. I was born to play ball for the Texas Rangers. That's a fact. I believe that with all my heart," Hamilton said.

Hamilton told the story about how he decided to retire from baseball in the letter. He also told the story during an interview with the Ben and Skin Show on 105.3 The Fan back in May.

The former American League MVP also touched on the club's World Series runs in 2010 and 2011, his struggles with addiction, and much more.

Hamilton and Richard Greene will be inducted into the Hall of Fame prior to the game on Saturday, August 17.

The Rangers are offering special ticket pricing for the game to honor Hamilton. You can get two upper-level tickets for $32 (Hamilton's number).
