The team and Porzingis agreed to the deal at the beginning of free agency on June 30.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the final year of the deal includes an opt-out for the 2023 season.

Dallas acquired Porzingis in a trade with the New York Knicks in January. He proceeded to sit out the entire season as he continued to rehab a torn ACL he suffered while playing for the Knicks in Feb. of 2018.
