FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - As the Rangers get ready to move into their new ballpark, they are now facing a lawsuit over an incident that happened at their old ballpark.

Misty Jennings of Parker County is seeking between $200,000 and $1 million from the Rangers after her child was injured during a game against the Angels on August 18, 2018.

The game was marred by severe weather -- heavy rains and high winds.

During one of the weather delays, Jennings, her child (referred to as A.B. in the lawsuit) and other fans took cover in a breezeway, waiting for the weather to pass and the game to resume.

"Heavy equipment, including a large speaker and stand, fell onto a crowd of fans and vendors who were waiting for the game to resume; the equipment landed on A.B.'s head, knocking him unconscious for several minutes," the lawsuit reads. "A.B. was taken by ambulance to the hospital. A.B. was badly injured in the incident."

The lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in Tarrant County, says Jennings expects to incur additional medical expenses for her child's continued treatment.

The Rangers say they are not commenting since it is an ongoing legal situation.
