DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - NFL Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk is taking shots at the Cowboys once again as the team still hasn't agreed to terms on a contract extension with Ezekiel Elliott.
Last week, Faulk said Dak Prescott would become "a bum" if he got an extension, and now today, he's taking the Cowboys to task over their deal with linebacker Jaylon Smith.

"If you think about this. And I'm not counting another man's money. But if you think about what Jaylon Smith did and what he got, compared to what Zeke has done and what he is asking for ... it's not even close," Faulk said on the Dan Patrick Show. "They drafted a linebacker in the first round last year. If they thought so much of Jaylon, I mean, you draft another linebacker in the first round (Leighton Vander Esch).

The Cowboys would argue they selected Vander Esch to replace injury-riddled veteran Sean Lee and not Smith.

Faulk, of course, has the same agent as Elliott (Rocky Arceneaux), so it's interesting that he's calling out the superstar running back's teammates.

The former Rams running back has been in Cabo San Lucas training Elliott in prepartion for the upcoming season. Faulk said he believes Elliott would be able to play at a high level in Week 1 but he wouldn't be in game shape to play as many snaps as he typically would.
