DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The NBA Trade Deadline is exactly two weeks away and the Dallas Mavericks are in the thick of the race to add talent for the stretch run.
According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, the Mavericks are among the playoff teams who have expressed an interest in Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Danilo Gallinari.
The 31-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract, is averaging 19.0 points per game while shooting 40.8 percent from three-point range. Oklahoma is currently the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference standings, but that won't stop them from selling as ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Jan 8. that the Thunder are "open for business."

In addition to Gallinari, O'Connor is reporting that the Mavericks have made trade proposals to the Minnesota Timberwolves for small forward Robert Covington, but those have been declined to this point.

After Dwight Powell went down with a season-ending Achilles injury on Tuesday night, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher opinioned on the GBAG Nation that the Mavericks and Sacramento Kings should get together and build a trade around sharp-shooter Bogdan Bogdanovic and big man Dewayne Dedmon, who's rotting away on the Kings' bench after signing a three-year, $30 million deal before the season.
