Former Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden is set to be spending time behind bars as TMZ Sports reports that he has pled guilty in his drunken Whataburger case.
McFadden was arrested at a Whataburger in McKinney in January 2019 on suspicion of driving drunk. He reached a plea deal with prosecutors and will spend 4 days in jail.
McFadden will also have to pay fines and fees as part of the agreement, and his driver's license will be suspended for 90 days.
Reports say McFadden fell asleep in his vehicle while waiting in the drive through lane.
When police showed up he reportedly resisted arrest. McFadden was released on bond a few hours after being taken in by officers.
McFadden played college football at the University of Arkansas and was just selected for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. McFadden was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2008 and played his later years with the Cowboys. He retired after the 2017 season.
