DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Oklahoma Sooner's quarterback Kyler Murray has committed to the NFL, bypassing a career in major league baseball.
"Moving forward, I am firmly and fully committing my life and time to becoming an NFL quarterback. Football has been my love and passion my entire life. I was rasied to play QB, and I very much look forward to dedicating 100% of myself to being the best QB possible and winning NFL championships. I have started an extensive training program to further prepare myself for upcoming NFL workouts and interviews. I eagerly await the opportunity to continue to prove NFL decision makers that I am the franchise QB in this draft."

Multiple reports last week said that Murray would attend the NFL combine, leading to speculation that he was in fact choosing a career in the NFL over the Oakland A's.
Murray, who was drafted by the Oakland A's in the first round of the draft last June, will return $1.29 million of the $1.5 million signing bonus he received after signing with Oakland, ESPN's Jeff Passan reports.
Murray will reportedly forfeit the remaining $3.16 million he was due March 1 and Oakland will retain his rights by placing him on the restricted list.
