Proposal Would Change Name Of Street Near American Airlines Center To Nowitzki Way

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas city council has proposed to change the name of a popular street near the American Airlines Center to honor former Mavericks' superstar Dirk Nowitzki. 

The city council will hold a vote at three meetings to determine whether they will change the name of Olive Street to Nowitzki Way.

The city says the public is welcome to attend the meetings in the coming months. 

All three meetings will be held at Dallas City Hall:

June 6, 2019 - 10 a.m.

August 1, 2019 - 1:30 p.m.

September 25, 2019 - 10 a.m.

Nowitzki announced his retirement from the NBA after 21 seasons following his final home game at the AAC on April 9.
