DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers have called up minor league pitching prospect Joe Palumbo to start the first game of tomorrow's doubleheader against the Oakland Athletics.

Palumbo joins Taylor Hearn as the second prospect to receive the call this season.

The left-hander is the club's seventh-best prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He's spent the entire season with Double-A Frisco and hasn't recorded a win or a loss in 10 starts. He has a 3.38 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP in 50.2 innings.
