DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Rangers reliever Ian Gibaut has been suspended for three games for throwing behind Padres third baseman Manny Machado in Monday night's game, according to multiple reports.

Additionally, manager Chris Woodward has been suspended for one game. Woodward will sit out today's game against San Diego, while Gibaut is appealing.

Gibaut took over for Juan Nicasio after he served up a grand slam to Padres young phenom Fernando Tatis Jr. in the 8th inning. The home run caused a lot of controversy in the baseball community because the game was out of hand when Tatis swung at a 3-0 pitch and knocked it out of the park.

Gibaut entered the game and threw a first-pitch four-seam fastball behind Machado. Umpires conferred on the mound but didn't issue a warning to either team.
