Report: Astros Select Dusty Baker To Be Their Next Manager

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Houston Astros have selected Dusty Baker to be their next manager, Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports reported Tuesday morning.

Baker was one of several candidates the Astros spoke with after they parted ways with former manager AJ Hinch following the sign-stealing scandal that rocked Major League Baseball.

The Astros will become the fifth team Baker has managed since he began managing the San Francisco Giants in 1993. Baker also managed the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and the Washington Nationals.

The 70-year-old is a three-time NL Manager of the Year winner. He has a career .532 winning percentage in the regular season but just a .418 winning percentage in the postseason.
