DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Taco Charlton has been cut by the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

The Dolphins have waived DE Taco Charlton, a Cowboys first round pick in 2017. He had 5.0 sacks this past season.

Charlton had five sacks with the Dolphins after being cut by the Cowboys in September of 2019. The pass rusher lasted only two seasons with Dallas after being selected in the first round of the 2017 draft.

"I think sometimes the chemistry just doesn't work with a player. With Rod, he has certain standards that he looks for in a player. I just don't think they ever saw eye-to-eye in terms of what that standard should be," Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said to DallasCowboys.com following the defensive end's release. "We wish Taco nothing but the best, and I think he'll go on to be a productive player in this league. A change of scenery will probably do him some good."
