Texas placed Pence on the injured list with a right groin strain on June 17.
Pence will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury, according to T.R. Sullivan.
The 36-year-old was slated to return to the club at some point this week, and he was elected as a starter for the MLB All-Star Game on July 9.
