Report: Mavericks Among Teams Interested In Trading For T.J. Warren

T.J. Warren

UPDATE: Per Adrian Wojnarowski, Warren has been traded to the Indiana Pacers.

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's NBA Draft Day and rumors are flying around the league - rumors that include the Dallas Mavericks.

The latest report comes to us from SNY's Ian Bagley, who writes that the Mavs "are among the teams who have expressed interest in obtaining Phoenix's T.J. Warren via trade."

Earlier this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Suns were shopping both Warren and 2017 fourth overall pick Josh Jackson.

Warren, 25, is slated to earn approximately $10.8 million this season and is signed through the 2021-22 season ($11.7 in 2020, $12.6 in 2021).

The former No. 14 overall pick in the 2014 draft averaged 19.6 points per game in 2017-18 and followed it up by averaging 18 points per game last season. The Suns have a glut of wings on the roster and can open playing time for Kelly Oubre Jr. and Mikal Bridges if they succeed in moving Warren or Jackson.

Dallas is also intrigued by Kemba Walker, see Fish's exclusive-exclusive trade idea that would net Dallas the All-Star point guard plus $13 million in cap room.

Marc Stein said yesterday on the Ben and Skin Show that the Hornets are most concerned about the Mavericks signing Walker away from them.

And, they also have plans to meet with rugged guard Patrick Beverley.
