Report: Mavericks Trade Roby To Clear Roster Spot For Possible Future Move

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks made a small, but not insignificant trade on Friday, when they sent Isaiah Roby to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for oft-injured center Justin Patton, according to multiple reports. 

However, it appears that Patton won't be here long-term, as Per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News is reporting that he'll be waived so the Mavericks can clear a roster spot while they mull over their next move. 

Dallas will also receive cash considerations in the deal. 

So, what's next? The Mavericks have been connected to a number of names over the past several days, including Joakim Noah, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dewayne Dedmon, Robert Covington and Danilo Gallinari.
