January 9, 2019 The right-hander was once thought of as a top of the rotation talent before he was beset by injuries the last three seasons. He pitched in just five games last season for the Arizona Diamondbacks due to elbow inflammation. He had Tommy John surgery in 2017.
The 28-year-old was an all-star in 2015 with the Atlanta Braves and came in third in Rookie of the Year voting in 2013 when he pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals.
St. Louis selected Miller No. 19 overall in the 2009 MLB Draft out of Brownwood High School in Brownwood, Texas.
Miller has a record of 37-53 with a 3.83 ERA across seven big league seasons with the St. Louis, Atlanta and Arizona.
