DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Rangers manager Ron Washington joined the K&C Masterpiece to discuss several things, including the 2011 World Series, Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz and more.

As everyone around the DFW Metroplex already knows, Game 6 of the 2011 World Series ended in heartbreak, and the Cardinals ended up winning the title in Game 7.

What we all remember the most about that series was how Cruz misplayed a fly ball in right field, which allowed the Cardinals to come back from a 7-5 deficit with two strikes and two outs in the 9th inning.

Many Rangers fans have never forgiven Cruz for that mistake but Washington took a moment to explain to them why they should.

"They should because if it wasn't for Nelson Cruz we would have never been there," Washington said. "Nelson Cruz tore up the Detroit Tigers (in the ALCS) ... he wore them out. Yes, I can say that I had him in no doubles and he came out of no doubles. I got to take responsability for that, too, because I asked Gary (Pettis) about him being in no doubles three times. And then the fourth time I didn't ask him, and that should have been the one time I did shoulda asked him, and (he'd) look out there and get him back and it would have been an easy play.

"Yes, we still think that when you look at the replay that Nelson should have caught it but I can not blame Nelson because Nelson left everything he had out there on the field."
