At one point in the interview, Marion said he remembered thinking during the 2011 season that they had something special brewing.

"When we were playing Mavs basketball that season ... If anybody who followed us that year and was really locked into the team and looked at the runs we went on throughout that year ... You knew how special we was. You knew what we were capable of doing, we just had to go out there and do it. At times, some nights were rougher than others. But when we went out there and played Mavs ball ... most of the time we did, there was nobody beating us. We didn't care who we were playing against. It didn't matter."
