DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys are expected to be without pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence when training camp begins, according to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher.
It is expected that Tank Lawrence (shoulder) will be a non-participant in Oxnard. But my educated guess is Byron Jones (hip) might surprise some #Cowboys watchers with sooner-than-expected readiness. - @1053thefan pic.twitter.com/FW2x0lKHrt

Lawrence is expected to begin the preseason on the PUP list (physically unable to perform) after he underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason.
During the press conference to announce his contract extension in April, Lawrence said he expected to be ready for the season. It's quite possible Lawrence doesn't participate at all while the team holds camp in Oxnard, California, and returns sometime after the team gets back to Frisco in mid-August.
Now, what about Byron Jones? Despite reports that Jones is not expected to practice in California, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher says that Jones 'might surprise some Cowboys watchers with sooner-than-expected readiness.'
Jones underwent offseason hip surgery in March and told the Cowboys team website that he was targeting a return in training camp.
"Definitely. I want to be back at training camp," Jones said, per Nick Eatman. "I want to be back with my teammates and play in the preseason games. That's the target."
Jones has never missed a regular-season game in his four years in the NFL, so Dallas will be hoping he can continue that run in 2019.
Jones, 26, was selected to his first Pro Bowl last season.
