DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Though he might be biased given his former position, former Dallas Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware believes the team should select a pass rusher in the first round of this year's NFL Draft.
In his interview with K&C Masterpiece on Tuesday, Ware noted his thoughts on the Cowboys hybrid defense and thinks that certain pass rusher out of LSU would fit the bill nicely for that style of defense.
"I've heard also that the Cowboys are going to be running a hybrid-type defense," Ware said in the interview. "I know that going into this draft at 17, I think they're going to be really looking from the lens of the guy from LSU K'Lavon Chaisson, like an outside linebacker-type guy. And I also know that DeMarcus Lawrence, he probably will transition into playing a little bit of a hybrid-type guy. I know (Mike) McCarthy, from the defenses he's had up there in Green Bay, they're going to want to bring the heat. And not just from the left side with DeMarcus Lawrence."
While with the Tigers, Chaisson played in 24 games in three seasons, though he missed 2018 with torn ACL. In those 25 games in Baton Rouge, Chaisson tallied 92 total tackles, including 19 for loss, and 9.5 sacks.
