What Would Happen To The Cowboys If DeMarcus Lawrence Sat Out?

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - DeMarcus Lawrence is debating whether or not he'll report to training camp on July 28, according to ESPN's Todd Archer

The quandary centers around Lawrence's feelings about his and his family's safety should he take the field in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The Cowboys defensive end and his wife are expecting the birth of their child in October.

"I'm taking it one day at a time, talking with my team and trying to figure out as many details as possible before I make a decision and have it set in stone," Lawrence told ESPN. "Shoot, I love to ride with my brothers and play the game of football. When I have to take that away from myself, it's hard and I don't want to make a decision like that. But I also have to make sure I'm taking care of my family. Family is No. 1. After the game of football is done, that's the only thing I have to depend on, so I've got to take care of them."

In the meantime, the NFL and the NFL Players Association are still working on an agreement on protocols to protect players during the pandemic.

The K&C Masterpiece discussed on Monday's show what would happen to the Cowboys should Lawrence elect to sit out. Watch the video above.
