DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Texas Rangers have traded reliever Chris Martin to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitching prospect Kolby Allard, the team announced Tuesday night.
Rangers get a strong return for a free agent-to-be reliever. Take advantage of fact that Allard is one of several arms in ATL's system.

July 31, 2019 Allard, 21, is the Braves no. 10 ranked prospect in their organization, according to MLB.com. He will head to Triple-A Nashville and is a candidate to be called upon later in the season.
Kolby Allard will begin with Triple-A Nashville. I imagine he'll be up with the big club at some point this year and will compete for a rotation spot to begin 2020. #Rangers

July 31, 2019 The left-hander is 7-5 with a 4.17 ERA in 20 starts for Triple-A Gwinnett in 2019. The Braves selected him in the first round of the 2015 draft out of San Clemente High School in California.
According to his scouting report on MLB Pipeline: Allard "has the makings of a solid big league starter. Perhaps he has the ceiling of a No. 3 type starter."
