DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys are hosting free agent safety Clayton Geathers for a visit at The Star today, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Geathers, 26, spent the first four years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts after being selected in the fourth round of the 2015 draft out of the University of Central Florida. He started 12 games in 2018 as the Colts' starting strong safety.

Per the Colts' team website, Indianapolis and Geathers have a mutual interest in a return next season.

"Do we want Clayton back? Yes. We want Clayton back," Colts general manager Chris Ballard told local reporters Wednesday at the NFL Scouting Combine. "We'll have some good talks with his agent this week."

Geathers plays with an "all-out" mentality but it has gotten him sidelined at the beginning of his career. Geathers has missed 23 games due to injury in his first four seasons, 18 of which were due to a neck injury that cost him most of the 2016 season and part of 2017.

He missed four games in 2018 due to a concussion, as well as neck and knee injuries.

Geathers still managed to have 89 combined tackles last season and was one of the Colts team captains.
