Report: Dennis Smith Jr. In Slam Dunk Contest

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. will compete in the Slam Dunk contest at NBA All-Star Saturday Night, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.

Smith competed in the dunk contest last season when he shockingly didn't advance out of the first-round.

Smith, an N.C. State alum and North Carolina native, will have a chance to put on a show in front of his hometown fans in Charlotte. He previously told ESPN's Tim MacMahon that didn't plan on competing in the competition ever again.

Smith will be joined at NBA All-Star Saturday Night by teammate Luka Doncic, who reportedly has elected to compete in the Skills Challenge.
