Cowboys Executive Vice President, CEO, and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones was quick to quell those rumors, telling 105.3 the fan that no current player available is worth a first-round pick.
While that doesn't necessarily mean that the Cowboys are out of the running for Fitzpatrick, it does indicate that they are not willing to pay the Dolphins desired asking price for the 22-year-old.
La Confora also reported that, along with the Cowboys, the Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks are all in the mix, and that offers are in the process of being made.
Since entering the league in 2018, Fitzpatrick has played in all 18 possible games, starting 13 of those games, and has made 91 tackles, intercepted two passes, recovered one fumble and scored one defensive touchdown.
Fitzpatrick's current team, the Miami Dolphins, suit up against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at 12 pm CT.
