Xavier Woods Feels Disrespected About Cowboys Pursuit Of Free Agent Safeties

Xavier Woods

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys safety Xavier Woods doesn't appear to be very pleased about all the rumors connecting his team to all the safeties on the open market.

This is really great stuff from @its_hollyWOODS with @LindsCashDraper.https://t.co/e7t4EHyaWL

During a sit down with Lindsay Draper of DallasCowboys.com, via 105.3 The Fan's friend, Bobby Belt, Woods was asked about his feelings on the Cowboys pursuing safeties this offseason?

"I mean, it doesn't really affect me. Just more of what comes from inside this building, because I was told some things, and then see other things. But I mean, I just felt like that was disrespectful to me. But all in all, I just use it as motivation. I feel like this year is going to be a big year for me. I'm working hard. I mean, I'm dedicated. The guys in the locker room that's been here (at The Star) over these last couple weeks, month and a half that I've been working out here, my focus has just been on a different level."

The Cowboys have always had great admiration for former Seahawks safety Earl Thomas prior to him agreeing to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. And, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher is reporting that the Cowboys are investigating the health of recently released Chiefs safety, Eric Berry

Woods, who had a solid season in 2018, will likely be the team's starting free safety once again in 2019.

He finished last season tied for the team lead in interceptions (2) and was third in pass deflections (9). Woods also had 56 tackles and one forced fumble.
