LATEST: Police report details incident that led to Alvin Kamara's arrest

Just hours after he participated in the Pro Bowl, Las Vegas police announced the arrest of Saints running back Alvin Kamara in connection to an incident at a nightclub earlier in the weekend.

Las Vegas Police announced the arrest Sunday evening in an investigation that began Saturday, with an unidentified individual reporting an assault that occurred at a nightclub in the 3500 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Kamara was identified as the suspect, police said. He was arrested Sunday evening and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Details of the incident were still unclear as of Sunday evening, but the official release from police indicated the man was hospitalized with "substantial bodily harm."

Kamara's bail was set at $5,000 in the incident, and he was scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon.

The Saints running back played in the Pro Bowl at Allegiant Stadium Sunday afternoon, the 5th of his career, and recorded 4 catches for 23 yards. Neither Kamara, 26, nor the Saints had made a statement regarding the arrest as of Sunday evening. The arrest marks the third involving a Saints player dating back to last season, all of which have occurred outside of New Orleans.
