Fans of both schools appeared to be going at it with punches being thrown.

Some on social media believed Wagner players got involved, but replays on ESPN showed that players were restrained before reaching the stands. It is believed that family members of players may have been involved in the altercation.

Trash could be seen being tossed in the direction of Wagner players and bench as security tried to get ahold of the chaotic scene that broke out.

Law enforcement got involved and the Wagner contingent of fans, who traveled to Bryant, the host team, for the game, were completely removed from the gym while the teams headed to the locker rooms until things could be settled down.

The incident occurred with 4:37 left in the game and Bryant leading 68-32 and officials spent a significant time reviewing the footage and determining whether or not to finish the game.

Ultimately, the officials ejected Wagner senior Will Martinez — because he left the bench area and moved toward the stands —and decided to finish the remainder of the game.

Some Wagner fans were allowed back and the student section was allowed to watch the remainder of the game but were given instructions not to storm the court until the Wagner players had left the court.

The final minutes were played without incident, as Bryant punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament with a 70-43 victory.

The brawl garnered quite the reaction on social media, too:
