The attorney representing the woman Dak Prescott accused of attempting to extort him for $100 million is speaking out on the alleged sexual assault that took place between his client and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

Prescott's attorney, Levi G. McCathern, revealed the allegations on Monday evening when he announced that he had filed a lawsuit in Collin County on behalf of Prescott, claiming that the quarterback was the victim of an extortion attempt.

Prescott received a letter from the woman's attorneys in January demanding 9 figures in compensation in exchange for not going public with the allegations or pursuing criminal charges.

Yoel Zehaie, one of the attorneys representing the sexual assault accuser, responded to the lawsuit on Tuesday.

"Our client, Victoria Shores, back in 2017, was raped by Mr. Prescott," Zehaie said on the K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan. "He [Prescott] has changed his story since we've been hired on this case. He initially said he needed assistance remembering her … that he remembered her, vaguely … and now he says it was consensual.

"This story about extortion, we were really taken aback when we saw it. This is just a legal maneuver. This is a classic move to discredit sexual assault victims. We sent a demand letter, which is very common practice in [civil matters]. There's nothing extortionist about it. ... We're just very disappointed that he [Prescott's attorney] would try to flip the script and make [his client] the victim."

When asked why his client waited seven years to bring the allegations to light, Zehaie said it's "very normal in sexual assault cases" for victims to come forward, especially due to the fact that his client is a (alleged) victim of the quarterback of the Cowboys.

Zehaie said that he is in the process of not only filing a civil suit against Prescott but also a criminal suit.

Prior to the interview, The Fan learned that McCathern was not doing any interviews as it stands today.

MaCathern released the following statement on Monday:

“Recently, Mr. Prescott found himself the subject of an extortion plot,” McCathern said. “The Defendant and her legal team have threatened to go public with a completely fabricated story of sexual assault from nearly a decade ago, and demanded that Mr. Prescott immediately pay $100 Million in exchange for her not pressing false charges with the authorities.

“Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual, sexual conduct with anyone. Lies hurt. Especially, malicious lies. We will not allow the Defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott."

McCathern added that the matter has been reported to "appropriate authorities" and that Prescott “will continue to cooperate fully in their investigation."

Prescott says he would donate a recovery from the case to the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization that supports victims of sexual assault.
