Battered and bruised Cowboys fall to Falcons in Atlanta

The Dallas Cowboys desperately needed a win heading into their Sunday matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

Unfortunately for Dallas, thanks to injuries and missed activities late it wasn’t to be, fall to the falcons 27-21 and dropping to 3-5 on the season.

Since did get off to a good start for Dallas, with the offense marching down the field to put points on the board on its very first drive with the game.

However, that’s when they started to go stale for the Cowboys, with Atlanta scoring two touchdowns to take a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.

Dallas was able to get in the end zone of the second Atlanta score, dropping the Falcons lead to 14-10 at halftime.

The Falcons took firm control in the second half, however, outscoring Dallas 13-0 for the majority of the second half, in large part due to missed opportunities. More notably though, Dallas also lost quarterback Dak Prescott to an injury, while star receiver CeeDee Lamb was also nursing a shoulder issue.

And without their two offensive stars at their disposal, Dallas was unable to mount any real comeback attempt, falling to Atlanta in frustrating fashion.

For the game, Dallas totaled 310 yards, including just 210 yards through the air, 133 of which came from Prescott before the injury. On the other end, Dallas allowed 278 yards to Atlanta, with Kirk Cousins accounting for three touchdown passes.

The Cowboys will be back on the field next Sunday at 3:25 pm CT.
