Below the Belt: Cowboys need more from Jake Ferguson, bye week changes
From the offensive line, to the running backs, to the quarterback, to the play-caller, and on: the Dallas Cowboys offense is struggling right now.
But what about tight end Jake Ferguson? Bobby Belt did a deep dive into the numbers to assess how Ferguson's been playing and whether he's under-performing through the first six games he's played (missed New Orleans) this season.
Ferguson had a big game against the Baltimore Ravens where he had six catches for 95 yards and another solid game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching seven passes for 70 yards. He also had seven grabs and 49 yards against the Giants. Outside of those three games, Ferguson's highest-yard output was the measly 23 yards he posted against San Francisco. He had just 11 yards receiving against Detroit and 15 yards against Cleveland.
Add all of it up and Ferguson has 31 catches for 263 yards and no touchdowns after he posed a career-high 71 catches for 761 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.
