Brandon Marshall warns Cowboys not to swap Dak with Russell Wilson: 'Grass isn't always greener'

The Russell Wilson rumor mill took off last week, with the Seattle Seahawks quarterback naming four teams he would want to be traded to — if he demands a trade, which he has not.

Among them included the Dallas Cowboys, perhaps one of the more intriguing teams as they currently need to decide whether or not to lock up Dak Prescott to a long-term deal or franchise tag him.

But a former teammate of the Seahawks QB says the Cowboys would be foolish to abandon Prescott for Wilson.

“Dallas, you have your guy,” former wide receiver Brandon Marshall told TMZ Sports. “Pay him! Let the world know he is the guy.”

By no means was Marshall, who played with Wilson during the 2018 season, attempting to denigrate the quarterback’s ability. He even referred to Wilson as “my guy” and is a huge fan of his former teammate.

Instead, Marshall pointed out that the Cowboys have built their team around Prescott over the last few years and swapping him for Wilson would not necessarily equal improvement.

“Continue to build your team around [Dak],” he said. “You know, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side because you don’t know Russ’ style and how he operates and how he moves.”

Marshall has previously been critical of the regime in Seattle and understands Wilson’s frustration.

He did add which team he did think Wilson would be a good fit with:

“I like Russell in New Orleans,” he said. “[But] they’re in cap hell right now. I don’t see how they could get it done. But with Sean Payton, that defense, Dennis Allen, oh man, phenomenal…and I like the Las Vegas Raiders. New stadium, coach [Jon] Gruden gonna do his thing…he’ll have everything he needs right there.”
