The Dallas Cowboys are going to have an expensive offseason.
Not only are they trying to come to an agreement with quarterback Dak Prescott, but they also have to find a way to re-sign stars CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.
Unfortunately for Dallas, both players have very high goals for their next deals.
“Both of them, rightfully so, believe they should be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league,” Jones said. “Totally respect that. So very difficult situations that we’re trying to work through with them.”
Lamb is one of two headline receivers looking for extensions this offseason, alongside 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk.
He is looking for a deal similar to what Vikings star Justin Jefferson got this offseason - a deal reset the market with a four-year $140 miliion deal that will pay him $35 million per year.
Meanwhile, Parsons will be looking for something close to that as well.
As it stands, 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa comes in as the second highest paid non-QB behind Jefferson at $34 million per year.
In other words, both Lamb and Parsons could theoretically sign deals that eclipse the $35 million mark before its all said and done.
