Could the Cowboys be plotting a big jump up from the No. 12 overall pick to No. 1 in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio joined Shan & RJ live from the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to discuss the latest gossip he's hearing and dropped an interesting tidbit of information to the guys.
"I did hear yesterday... you hear all sorts of stuff. And I don't like to traffic in stuff I've heard because I don't know how accurate it is. But I did have somebody tell me that the Cowboys have talked to the Titans about moving up to No. 1," Florio said on 105.3 The Fan.
"Now I think a lot of teams talk about moving around and I don't know if you guys have heard that. But that's a jump and I don't know what you would have to put into that or whether you'd have to put Micah Parsons into that package if it would go that way. But teams talk all the time... they talk all the time... I haven't reported or verified that there was a conversation.
As for who the Cowboys could be targeting in a potential swap with the Tennessee Titans for the No. 1 overall pick, Florio said he hadn't heard, but Shan, RJ Bobby believe Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter would likely be the player they have their eyes on.
On Thursday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Carter wouldn't need surgery on his right foot after reporting Wednesday that the star pass rusher has a stress reaction in the foot.
History shows that any team moving up to the top pick in the draft would have to pay a premium. Shan, RJ and Bobby discussed Florio's comments with Cowboys insider Todd Archer a short time later and speculated that it would cost them at least an impact player, No. 12 overall, a future first, and two seconds.
