The Dallas Cowboys added linebacker Micah Parsons to Friday's injury report with an illness. Although, it doesn't sound like the organization is too concerned about the All-Pro's status for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“I’d be surprised if Micah doesn’t come around. You never know on these flu bugs, but he should be fine," Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said Friday on the GBag Nation on 105.3 The Fan.
Jones also addressed the comments Parsons made to the media this week about not needing to be the NFL's highest-paid defensive player and wanting to get an extension done as soon as possible so the Cowboys can be aggressive this offseason.
“If you can get ahead of (these big contracts), you want to get ahead of them," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "Hats off to Micah. I’ve seen some of the comments that he’s made. (He’s) had conversations with Jerry (Jones) and I. That’s what we want. We want guys who want to be here.”
