Cowboys agree to 1-year deal with DE Dante Fowler

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back a familiar face to add to their pass-rushing unit.

According to multiple reports, the Cowboys agreed to a one-year, $8 million deal with pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr.

Per Todd Archer of ESPN, Fowler will earn $6 million in base salary and can earn up to $2 million in incentives.

Fowler, 30, spent two seasons with Dallas in 2022 and 2023 before following former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to the Washington Commanders in 2024.

In his lone season with Washington, Fowler appeared in all 17 games and recorded 10.5 sacks.

The deal with Fowler comes a few days after the former No. 3 overall pick appeared to express his displeasure with the Commanders and their lack of interest in retaining him prior to free agency getting underway.

''The disrespect.. I can't take it anymore," Fowler wrote on X.

Fowler provides the Cowboys with some much-needed depth at defensive end after DeMarcus Lawrence left for the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.

He'll join a pass rusher group that includes Micah Parsons, Marshawn Kneeland, Sam Williams and Payton Turner.
