Cowboys All-Pro CB Daron Bland out multiple weeks with foot injury

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a big loss to their defense.

Per an announcement from the team, Cowboys All-Pro cornerback Daron Bland will be out for the next six to eight weeks after suffering a stress fracture in his foot during practice on Wednesday.

Bland will undergo surgery to repair the injury in the coming days.

"DaRon Bland experienced foot discomfort on Wednesday of last week during training camp in Oxnard," the Cowboys said in a statement. "Subsequent imaging revealed a stress fracture in his foot. He will undergo surgery to repair the injury and is currently projected to be out for 6-8 weeks."

Arguably the Cowboys biggest playmaker in the secondary, Bland is coming off of an All-Pro season in which he led the NFL with nine interceptions, setting a single-season record for pick-sixes with five along the way.

It was also tied for the fourth most interceptions in a single season in Cowboys history behind Trevon Diggs (2021) and Everson Walls (1981) who both had 11, and Mel Renfro who had 10 (1969).

Bland has 14 interceptions over the last two seasons for Dallas.
