Cowboys break losing streak with win over Commanders
The Dallas Cowboys are back in the win column.
After weeks of frustration, the Cowboys have finally notched a win, traveling to Northwest Stadium and taking down the Washington Commanders 34-26.
Things got off to a slow start for Dallas, with the score sitting at 3-3 heading into the locker room after a late first half field goal tied things up.
However, in the second half, the Dallas offense - thanks in part to some timely plays from the defense - came alive, outscored the Commanders in the final two frames.
Washington had an opportunity to tie the game late thanks to a Commanders touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin, but failed to convert the point after attempt, sealing the Cowboys win.
Dallas put the cherry on top by returning the Commanders onside kick for a touchdown, sealing the game.
Offensively, Cooper Rush had his best game since taking over for Dak Prescott at quarterback, completing 24-32 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
The Cowboys running game was also alive and well, with Rico Dowdle rushing 19 times for 86 yards. On the receiving end, CeeDee Lamb led the way with 10 catches 67 yards, while Jalen Tolbert and Luke Schoonmaker were on the other end of the two scores.
Defensively, it was the Cowboys best performance in weeks, with Dallas holding the Commanders rookie QB sensation Jayden Daniels in check for the majority of the game.
Dallas will attempt to make it two in a row on a short week, when they host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day.
