'It wouldn't shock' NFL Draft expert Todd McShay if Cowboys traded up to pick Bijan Robinson

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The smoke surrounding the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson in the upcoming NFL Draft just won't go away.

On Wednesday in an interview with Dan Patrick, draft expert Todd McShay gave his case for Bijan Robinson as the No. 2 player in the entire class, and gave a list of landing spots of which he believes Robinson could fall next weekend.

However, he went much farther than that.

According to McShay, the Cowboys are not only 'obsessed' with getting a bell cow running back to pair with Tony Pollard, but that Mike McCarthy is 'dying' for a player with Bijan's skillset.

"I still hold this out," McShay said. "Dallas is obsessed with getting a running back that can be their guy. Be a compliment to Tony Pollard like they had with Zeke when Zeke was closer to his prime. Mike McCarthy is dying for a big power back like that. He wants to run the football, they want to be a run based team."

McShay also believes that Dallas likes Robinson so much, that not only does he believe they want to draft the Longhorns star, but that it is a distinct possibility that Dallas could trade up to get him.

"They would love to bring the Texas star into Dallas and make him the star of their offense," McShay said. "Dallas is sitting at 26. It wouldn't shock me if they made a splash, jumped up into the teens ahead of teams like Detroit, and the Chargers and went and got Bijan maybe around 14, 15, 16."

Now, just over a week away from draft night, the Cowboys will have to have their plan cemented in the near future - Robinson or not.

With that said, at the rate that things are progressing, we could eventually start to see some fire to match the smoke surrounding Robinson and the Cowboys.
