DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys have successfully claimed defensive tackle Ron'Dell Carter off of waivers, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday afternoon.
Carter was previously on the Cowboys practice squad before the Colts poached him on Sept. 29. Carter was reportedly a very coveted player on the Cowboys practice squad, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher reported at the time. So, it's no surprise they jumped at the opportunity to pick him back up when the Colts moved on from him this week.
Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reported back in September that Carter was the only player the Cowboys protected on their practice squad during each of the first three weeks of the season. Dallas also gave him the highest guaranteed salary ($145,000) of any of the rookie free agents they signed.
Carter didn't appear in any games with Indianapolis. He will immediately be placed on the Cowboys 53-man roster.
