Cowboys fall apart in second half, lose to 49ers

The Dallas Cowboys desperately needed to get back in the win column on Sunday night, when they made their way to Santa Clara to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately for Dallas, it was once again another disappointment, with the Cowboys falling 30-24 to the 49ers and falling to 3-4 on the season.

Things started off well enough for the Cowboys, who held a 10-6 lead heading into the locker room at halftime, and looked to be in control of the game thanks to their defense and their ability to run the football.

However, that is when the game took a turn on Dallas, with the offense going cold for four-straight drives, resulting in 21 unanswered points by the 49ers.

And seemingly before the Cowboys even realized what happened, they trailed 27-10 with just under 12 minutes to go in the game.

Dallas did make a push in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to 30-24 on a pair of Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb touchdowns.

But by then, it was too-little-too-late for Dallas, with the offense coming up short on the next drive and turning it over on downs, essentially ending the game.

Offensively it was another frustrating outing for most of the evening for Dallas, with the Cowboys amassing 292 yards of total offense on 59 plays (4.9 yards per play), the vast majority of which came late in the fourth quarter in their desperate

Lamb was ultimately the lone bright spot on the offensive side for Dallas, catching 13 passes on 17 targets for 146 yards and the two fourth quarter scores.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, Dallas was gashed by San Francisco for 469 yards of total offense, 223 of which came on the ground.

The Cowboys will be back in action next Sunday when they had to Atlanta to take on the Falcons at noon CT.
