Cowboys fall in embarrassing blowout loss to Eagles
The Dallas Cowboys entered their matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday hoping to avenge their embarrassing loss from earlier in the season, and finally claw their way back to .500.
Unfortunately fro Dallas, it was quite the opposite, with the Cowboys falling to the Eagles 41-7 in embarrassing blowout fashion.
Things started off rough for Dallas right from the jump, with quarterback Cooper Rush throwing a pick six, and putting Dallas in an early hole.
The Cowboys were able to answer after the interception, however, marching down the field for a 12-play, 70-yard scoring drive that was capped off by a Rush to Jalen Tolbert touchdown pass.
After that, however, it was all Eagles the rest of the way, with Philadelphia turning over the Cowboys three more times throughout the afternoon, and allowing them just 162 yards of total offense for the remainder of the game after their lone scoring drive.
Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett filled in well for Jalen Hurts at quarterback for the Eagles, completing 10 of 15 passes for 143 yards and a score before leaving the game with an injury. Likewise, star running back Saquon Barkley diced the Cowboys defense to pieces on the ground, rushing 31 times for 167 yards.
Offensively, Dallas was held to 267 yards of total offense, including just 147 yards on 15 of 28 passing from Rush, to go along with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Running back Rico Dowdle was the lone bright spot for Dallas on either side of the ball, with the first year starter rushing 23 times for 104 yards and surpassing 1,000 yards for the season.
Following the loss, the Cowboys now sit at 7-9 for the season with no hope of breaking the .500 mark.
They'll be back in action next Sunday in their season finale against the Washington Commanders.
