The Dallas Cowboys fell to 0-4 in the preseason on Sunday afternoon, after dropping their preseason finale 34-14 to the Jacksonville Jaguars at AT&T Stadium.

With most of the starters sidelined, Sunday was not about winning for the Cowboys.

Rather, this game was about finding depth, and settling position battles heading into the regular season opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The big winners of the Day for Dallas? Quarterback Garrett Gilber, and linebacker Luke Gifford.

Gilbert didn't get the start, but finished the day far ahead of Cooper Rush in terms of production, completing 9-of-16 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown -- hopefully for Gilbert, enough to secure him the back up job in Dallas.

As for Gifford, the young linebacker was the team's best player on the day, finishing the game with 11 tackles.

Like Gilbert, Gifford is fighting to make the final 53 man roster as well, and after Sunday, those chances likely went up drastically.

Either way, we will see soon enough, with the Cowboys opening the season in 11 days against the Buccanneers.
