DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys are knocking on the postseason door and will clinch a playoff berth this weekend with a win or a tie, or loss or tie by the Eagles or Saints. They also clinch a playoff spot should the Buccaneers win or tie at Carolina.
Dallas doesn't have to worry about all those other scenarios should they just get a win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday Night Football.
It's looking as if they'll have to get the job done without their starting left tackle Tyron Smith, but that decision hasn't been cemented just yet.
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy provided a positive update on Smith Wednesday morning, saying that the former All-Pro is "much better than he was last week." Smith won't practice on Wednesday, but he'll work off to the side with the director of rehabilitation Britt Brown.
McCarthy also was able to provide a positive update on tight end Blake Jarwin, who has missed the team's last seven games due to a hip injury and a bout with COVID-19. McCarthy said on Wednesday that the team is hopeful that Jarwin could start some on-field work next week or the week after. The 27-year-old remains on injured reserve.
