DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys have been without star left tackle Tyron Smith since the second half of their Week 14 win over the Washington Football Team after he was sidelined with an ankle injury.

However, in his weekly visit with Shan and RJ on 105.3 the Fan, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones displayed confidence in the possibility that Smith will be back next Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

"He wasn't quite ready or he would have been out there Sunday," Jones said. "Hopefully he'll be at that point this week. He was close enough, that it's a pretty good bet that you could see Tyron out there. It would surprise me if he isn't out there this week."

This is of course the second time Smith has been forced to miss time, after he missed week's 9-11 with an injury that he suffered vs. Minnesota in Week 8.

If Smith is indeed able to return, it could not come at a better time for Dallas, who will face a dynamic Arizona defense that is led by the dynamic pass rush of Markus Golden and Chandler Jones, who have combined for 20.5 sacks this season.

The Cowboys and the Cardinals will kick off at 3:25 PM CT at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
