Jerry Jones triples down on tense conversation with Shan & RJ
Just when we thought all of the noise from Jerry Jones' tense conversation with Shan and RJ on Tuesday morning was dissipating, another story dropped with more quotes from the Cowboys owner and general manager discussing his displeasure with 105.3 The Fan's morning show.
In an article written by USA Today's Jarrett Bell titled, "Opinion: Jerry Jones should know better than to pick media fight he can't win," Jones tripled down on his opinion that Shan and RJ's questions were unfair.
During the interview with Shan and RJ, Jones suggested that he could "get somebody else to ask these questions." Belt asked Jones if he was serious about his threat to try and replace the hosts.
“I don’t know," Jones said “I’ll tell you what: (Dale) Hansen and Brad (Sham) had to take a leave when they went too far, one way or another.
“They’re my own folks. “That’s like Brad and Dale, putting it on us, during a ballgame.”
As Bell notes, "Hansen and Sham, media legends in the Dallas market, formed the Cowboys’ popular radio team for many years, except for the hiatus during the 1990s that was sparked when Jones became incensed by their criticism of his team."
In fairness to Jones, this conversation appeared to happen shortly after he visited with The Athletic's Dianna Russini at the NFL league meetings on Tuesday afternoon, so it's possible that he'll have a change of heart now that some time has passed.
Two thirds of the morning show (Shan Shariff is on vacation) were on Friday morning's show and weighed in on Jones' latest comments.
